Because We Need a Muse Today

There will be mourning or celebration tomorrow, of course.  But it seems appropriate to to express this request now rather than then.

For the record, the movie this clip is taken from is a World War II period piece called This Is the Army.  One of the stars was a young ... you guessed it ... Ronald Reagan.  You can see him around 4:20.  All the old men you see are soldiers who fought in World War I; they are contemplating their sacrifices, and those that their sons are about to make.

What a voice! Also, that Allegri at tomorrow has been one of my favourites for a good long time, though I only found that recording over the summer.

But "all things have been subjected to corruption"; this, too, shall pass. In the meantime, Yea, God bless America.
